Farley Elementary School Renovated
Donation protected
Hello! I am James Scott, and I recently purchased the building and property formerly known as Farley Elementary School in my hometown of Paducah, Kentucky. I moved back to Paducah in 2021 after retiring from the United States Air Force with more than 24 years of active duty service. Looking for ways to continue to give and serve, I noticed my former elementary school appeared vacant and needed attention. I reminisced about all the great times and memories I had at this school as a child and coupled that with my own children's experiences at a youth and community center growing up on a military base. Praying about this school and believing God was nudging me in this direction, I contacted the school board and inquired about buying the property. It just so happened the property was about to go up for a sealed bid auction! I won the auction, and rehabbing the school and property into a future community center has begun. However, I have quickly realized the undertaking is significantly more taxing and financially burdensome than I ever anticipated. While I believe I have an excellent vision for the finished product of a community center, getting there has been more of a challenge than I realized. This is where you, the donor, come in. I need help with a new heating and air conditioning system; commercial kitchen refurbishment and subsequent code compliance to open the kitchen to the public; equipment for activities such as youth sports equipment, adult education classes, and so on; roof repairs; asphalt repairs; outside playground equipment repairs and replacement; and on and on. Farley has long been a crown jewel of the greater Farley Community, and my vision is to make it so again! With your help, we can do this together! Please see my YouTube channel and Facebook page under "Farley Renovated."
