Fighting for our rainbow baby-Vanessa & Kiki
Donation protected
Hi, our names are Vanessa & Kiki. We have been very open with our journey the past few months, but if you don't know our story here it is.
In the summer of 2020 we decided to start growing our family. We tried to get pregnant naturally and unfortunately that failed. We had to move to the infertility clinic.
After 5 failed IUIs, we then moved onto IVF. In NYS most employers cover 3 rounds of IVF. We were overjoyed not knowing the heartbreak that was ahead of us. Our first fresh transfer failed. We tried a second time with a frozen transfer, which to our surprise worked!! We were FINALLY pregnant. You could imagine how overjoyed we were. In July we found out we were having a beautiful baby boy. We named him Ivan Robert. We went to our anatomy scan and were told "everything looks great with the baby. See you in a few weeks" Only to be in the hospital 1.5 weeks later giving birth to our precious son. He was born at 21 weeks 6 days. Too early for any intervention. We gave birth to our son who lived for just a few minutes & took his last breathes in our arms on August 28th. The grief journey has been extremely rough for us. We had Ivans nursery set purchased, and even his babyshower planned. Our life was forever changed. Unimaginable pain.
Somehow God has given us the strength to try again as our desire to be parents is stronger than our fears. We want this more then anything in the world and we won't let Ivans death be in vain. With our last covered cycle we moved forward with a egg retrieval in March. This resulted in only 3 eggs surviving. We transferred one on March 26th which failed. We are devastated. Unfortunately we no longer have insurance coverage IVF as we exhausted all 3 cycles. Any savings we had was used to cover bills while we were out of work when Ivan passed.
We never expected this would be our story. We expected to be parents to a beautiful baby boy on earth, but instead we are here with empty arms and a broken heart. Yearning to be parents. We are trying to put our faith in God that this will happen for us.
We are hoping you can help us raise enough money to cover another embryo transfer. We are fighting for our rainbow baby, and would be forever greatful for any donations or shares of this Go fund me.
From the deepest part of our hearts, Kiki & I thank you.
