Fire guts our house as well as our life!

Hi our names are Anthony and Vasiliki. We are a newly wed couple with Byron the puppy, and cloudy the the cat. Our house went up in flames on Wednesday due to a faulty lithium battery exploding. Luckily no one was injured but our lovely house is no longer liveable, or lovely.

We are also very fortunate to still have our amazingly beautiful and resilient Cloudy cat. He was the only one home at the time and went from a cute black and white, to mostly black. He has been checked out and has been given the all clear for now but we are still monitoring him for lung problems.

The puppy had a great day playing with all the emergency workers but sadly has lost his bed and all his toys apart from a sad broken tennis ball i had in the car. And now he has to go to a kennel for a week, while our traumatised cat will be staying at our local vet from whom we adopted him.

We are currently on our second airbnb in a week while searching for a permanent place to call home again. Most of my clothes were destroyed in the blaze including all my work clothes and steel cap boots which means i cant work till i replace them. Luckily the wife's were all tucked away in a closet and only has a slight smokey smell.

We are currently looking to get into the rental property market, but with vet bills, kennel fees and having to buy new work clothes so that I can work to to pay for bond we are barely surviving. Also Vasiliki has a condition which makes manual labour hard to deal with and causes dizzy spells and occasional fainting which leaves the clean up mostly to me, plus the medication, which is experimental is quite expensive.
