Fire Up for Rayse
Donation protected
Rayse Richardson has been a Firefighter/Paramedic for 10 years and is currently working at Bryan Fire Department. He was diagnosed with brain cancer (oligodendroglioma) in 2006. He had two surgeries (2006 & 2007) and the surgeon removed 85% of the tumor. The 15% that is left cannot be operated on due to being on his motor strip. In 2011 an MRI revealed his cancer was growing and Rayse went through chemotherapy for 13 months. The chemo successfully stopped the growth but during a recent checkup at MD Anderson in Houston, his oncologist found that the cancer was growing again. Rayse will undergo medical testing and radiation treatments Monday through Friday for 6 weeks at MD Anderson in Houston. He is also looking into alternative treatment options out of the country. He doesn’t know what the total cost of treatment will be or how long he will be out of work, but I felt I needed to start something to help alleviate any financial stress so he and his family can focus on his healing and treatment. The money donated will be used to pay for lodging for 6 or more weeks, medical expenses not covered by insurance and to help with daily living expenses. Please keep Rayse in your thoughts and prayers as he undergoes this trial and tribulation. Thank you for your support and generous donations are sincerely appreciated.
