Dorothy Comingore Cenotaph Fund
Donation protected
Dorothy will always be remembered as Susan Kane in what is considered by many as the greatest movie ever made, Citizen Kane. However her memory off the silver screen has faded away with being a victim of the Hollywood Blacklist of the 1950’s. Dorothy’s story then takes her to Stonginton, CT, where she lives until she passed away at the age of 58. Her ashes were scattered in many places.
Dorothy ended up in Stonginton, CT, by going on a road trip with a random man and they got stuck in a snowstorm. John Crowe found them, the random man left so Crowe took Dorothy in at his home in Stonginton, CT. They got married and lived happily until she passed away at 58 and Crowe in 1990. Majority of people don’t know she spent her last years at Lords Point, a place in Stonginton, she was part of the community.
Dorothy has kids from previous marriages but didn’t have custody of them. One in particular, Michael Collins, was raised by his dad, Richard Collins, but still followed his mothers footsteps and went into the film industry. Michael is putting together this documentary together for his mother. He first started research in 1981 but worked full time. Now, semi-retired he has found time and has scheduled interviews for the documentary m. He was able to get in touch with Dorothy’s sister to get more information.
Now, with Dorothy at peace we want to place a cenotaph (marker) in Stonginton, CT. With your donation we can keep Dorothy’s memory and legacy alive!
Michael Collins,Dorothy's son, is President of Rosebud Films and is in development of both a novel and a documentary on his mother's story.
All proceeds over the goal will be donated to his production. Along with any donation of $50 or more will receive a special thank you credit in the documentary
