Peril to Peace: Help Evacuate MC Gaza's family

My name is Jenna Martin, a filmworker based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. Over a decade ago while working as an entertainment journalist, I had the pleasure of meeting a truly inspiring human being that has lived in my heart ever since. I am hosting this campaign in solidarity with and for my dear friend Ibrahim Ghunaim. He is a beacon of resilience, an artist, and an unwavering voice for peace in Palestine.

Ibrahim, through his art and activism as MC Gaza, has spent nearly two decades advocating for the Palestinian cause, weaving hope through the tapestry of despair that too often defines Gaza. I am reaching out to the world with a plea that is as urgent as it is heartfelt. We need your lifesaving contributions to assist in evacuating the Ghunaim family from Gaza.

I am here to share a critical aspect of our campaign and the purpose behind our call for support, a detail that underscores the dire situation that members of Ibrahim's family currently face. The funds we seek are not just a blanket aid; they have a specific, lifesaving purpose for 45 individual family members. To bring each one out of the shadows of Gaza, away from the ongoing violence and to the safety they desperately need and deserve, it will cost 5,000 per person. The amount is not just a figure, it is a lifeline. The price of passage from peril to peace. This multigenerational family’s journey from their war-torn home to a place of safety is fraught with obstacles. The cost covers complex logistics and necessary arrangements to ensure their safe exit from Gaza, a region that has been their home, their history, but now their prison.

The Ghunaim family, including Ibrahim’s mother and younger brother with Down syndrome have been living in conditions no human should ever face, without proper shelter, security or the basic necessities of life. Their homes have been destroyed, their lives uprooted and their futures hang in the balance.

This urgency to evacuate is extreme and this campaign is a beacon of hope, a chance to offer Ibrahim's family a path to safety, to rest, to rebuild. The $5,000 per person we aim to raise is a testament to our collective will to make a tangible difference, to stand against the tide of despair with actions that speak of compassion, solidarity and hope.
