Grandfather in Need

On Sunday, August 8th around 9:30 PM, my grandfather was on his way to his second job where he works security when he was involved in a 4 car pile-up! His car was totaled and it’s a miracle he survived! He was taken by ambulance to the Hospital District Downtown where they concluded he sustained head trauma, 6 fractured ribs, a broken finger, a broken nose, a lacerated liver, as well as bruises, cuts, and scrapes in various spots on his body. He also required a few stitches from where glass cut him. Thankfully his injuries are survivable but he faces a rough recovery. In addition to not being able to return to work until he recovers, he only had liability insurance so he does not have funds for another car and his phone was crushed in the accident. My grandmother has Social Security benefits but it isn’t much income and we’re not sure how long it will be before he’s able to return to work. He’s a hardworking man and normally works two different security jobs to make ends meet! I’m making this fundraiser on behalf of my grandparents so they can get him a new phone, cover any bills that are due while he’s at home, and put a down payment on another car so my grandfather can return to work upon recovering.

To any of his friends: Shawn arrived back home yesterday (8/13). He currently doesn’t have a phone and due to his injuries, he’s not physically able to sit and use the computer or Facebook yet.
