As part of the "Sports dans la ville" programme, 500 young people from

disadvantaged backgrounds are being given the opportunity to go to the Olympic

Games. Fafali is lucky enough to be able to send 6 young people and 2 coaches to

France.

About Fafali : In general, Fafali is an NGO, a charity organisation working in the

Anumle Electroal Area, an area in the centre of Accra and the rural Kpoviadz area.

Fafali offers various after-school programmes and projects for children and young

people between the ages of 5 and 18 in five main areas. These include education,

sport, environment, gender equality and entrepreneurship. Examples of sports

include the Ball&Brain project, which uses the so-called "Honey-Bee-Method" to

attract boys and girls and then ensure that they go to school.

The project: It is of course about the visit to the Olympics, but above all about the rest

of the programme. There will also be various workshops for the young people (aged

15-18). Intercultural learning will take centre stage. Exchange with young people from

all over the world is encouraged. Knowledge and experience abroad will be

promoted.

The young people (3 boys and 3 girls) will return to Ghana with many new

impressions and be able to tell the others about them so that they can also

participate indirectly and benefit from them. It is about giving hope to the other

children as well. Also to help other children to see beyond, not only the ones who are

going.

The project partner in France is already providing accommodation, meals and

everything else.

Of a total of 9500 euros for the flights for the 6 young people and the 2 carers, 3000

euros have already been financed. We are still missing 6500 euros. We need to raise the funds fast, because the program will start on 19th July 2024.
