Funding an Electric Wheelchair for Martyn

Martyn suffers from a form of Muscular Dystrophy called Facioscapularhumeral Muscular Dystrophy or FSH for short.
FSH is a genetic condition characterised by the weakening and wasting of the muscles of the face, shoulders and arms. It can, as with Martyns case, begin to cause wasting of the leg muscles as well as leaving the individual wheelchair bound.
He was diagnosed aged 13 and his muscles, as predicted have started to deteriorate over the years. Despite how long it has been it was only up to a year ago Martyn stopped walking around outside, it was just too dangerous when he kept falling over. About 6 months ago Martyn could no longer walk around the house unaided and has since become reliant on his wheelchair and myself.
I am Martyns' partner and also his full time carer. We do not qualify for any help with getting a new wheelchair and are currently using one that is slowly falling a part making life quite difficult. Martyn did have a scooter to go outside but it was very old and could not be repaired meaning he lost his independence greatly. With the cost of repairing his manual one and his wish to be more independent again I thought with his deterioration, an electric wheelchair would be really beneficial and would really change his life.
What I would really love is to be able to raise enough money to get a good quality foldable electric wheelchair that we can take a part easily for transporting in the car for day trips and family days out and is also great for indoors as well. Any money left over would be put towards making the chair more comfortable and user friendly eg wheelchair rucksacks, blanket, rain cover etc. I would love to help Martyn be more independent again.
He would love to go into town with the children on his own, pick up our son from school again and he'd love to simply take the dog for a walk and come home again, to be able to cook and enjoy being in the kitchen in a comfortable chair.
