Funds for a safe home for our family.

Hey folks, I don't normally do this, but I need to ask for some financial support from our community. Our family has lived in a single wide trailer for a little over ten years. The home was supposed to be a stepping stone to a more permanent place but we ended up staying here a lot longer than expected. The trailer was built in 1976 and has had dozens of tenents over the years with very little upkeep. It had a lot of damage when we moved in but we didn't know just how bad it was right away. We've put in thousands of dollars over the past decade to keep in up to safe living standards but unfortunately it's a lost cause at this point. We have severe plumbing, electrical, and structural issues throughout the home. Approximately half of the outlets don't work, the floor has several weak spots or holes, and most of the windows are missing the storm windows, or the inner windows. The ceiling leaks in a few spots and our pipes freeze frequently in the winter. Our bathroom floor is incredibly weak and out toilet actually fell over when my daughter was sitting on it. We attempted to fix the floor and reseal the toilet, but it's a temporary fix to a much larger problem. In addition to these issues, the walls under every window have water and mold damage. My son and fiance both have asthma issues and this is very unhealthy for them. The water damage has caused dangerous electrical issues. We've replaced outlets and wires as we can afford it, but all of the wiring throughout the house needs to be replaced. I'm asking for our community to help support us in raising funds for at least a down payment for a new home. Either to purchase a home on a piece of land, or for a new trailer to replace this one. We've spoken to a few banks and a program for first time home buyers and they've all told us that we need a down payment in order to qualify for a mortgage. I know we have an incredible community and I'm really hoping this works. We are desperate for this help! I do not like asking for this type of help, but I want to keep my family safe and comfortable. We are very concerned that this home will not get us through another winter. Anything at all you can give will help. We've certainly fallen on hard times this year and we can't seem to get above water. We've exhausted all other possibilities and we need to keep the kiddos in the Beekmantown school district.
