Funeral & Burial Expenses for Martha A Hernandez

Donation protected
On June 13, 2024 Martha A. Hernandez passed away after her ongoing battle with cancer and a year after the loss of her eldest daughter. Due to the sudden loss of our mother, our family is humbly asking for your help during this difficult time to offset funeral and burial expenses. In 2022, Martha was diagnosed with breast cancer and with her unwavering faith in God began treatment and successfully defeated her battle cancer. Unfortunately, while in remission, a more aggressive cancer returned in 2023 shortly after losing her eldest daughter. Although she fought fiercely and bravely and appeared to be winning her battle with this new cancer, in June 2024 she lost her battle to stage four metastatic carcinoma. Her loss is an absolute tragedy to many of us who loved her. Everyone who met her knew how truly selfless she was. She was a devout Catholic, an incredible mother, a loving daughter and sister, and an affectionate abuelita. She was always ready to provide a hand and comforting words to friends in need. A devoted mother, she supported her daughters in every way possible, including volunteering with the Porter Band Boosters, and Little Miss Kickball, where her three daughters played from the 1980s through the 2000s. She was especially proud to be a part of Comunidad AMA, a Catholic organization devoted to providing educational and religious opportunities and events to the community. She was especially fond of her time working at Friendship of Women, an agency that provides support services to adults and children impacted by family and sexual violence. The lives of all those that she encountered are better and brighter for having known her. Our family will continue to live through her and the examples she set as a devoted mom and a volunteer at heart. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
