Cherisse Massey Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On Tuesday, February 9th we lost a very special person, Cherisse “Sherry” Massey. Sherry had just celebrated her 43rd birthday on January 15th and was looking forward to a great 2016. While Sherry was at work, she suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and sadly, never recovered.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Ryan, and son, Ricky Mann, Jr. Ryan and Sherry were also in the process of adopting a little girl named Nalaysia. Nalaysia is 2½ and has her Daddy wrapped around her little fingers. Her parents and parents-in-law, along with her sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, two Godchildren and many other friends and family, are truly devastated by this loss.
To say Sherry was a shining star would not give her enough credit. She was such a great person and touched many lives, both personally and professionally. Sherry was a role model, not only to the members of her family, but to her friends and co-workers. She worked her way up through ranks to a management position with hard work, compassion, and dedication to her career. Sherry’s positive attitude was infectious and she had a great sense of humor. She always relished in the success of her staff members, even when their careers took them to other companies.
Sherry’s faith was also an important part of her and Ryan’s life, and their marriage of almost 16 years. They are members of St. John’s Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida and both were recently baptized. We will honor her again at a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, February 20th.
Please consider a donation on the family’s behalf and any amount is appreciated. They will use these funds to help with Nalaysia’s education, Ricky’s future, plus provide a charitable donation to two causes that were close to Sherry’s heart—The Spring of Tampa Bay and Alex’s Xmas for Kids.
The Spring provides programs and services to help victims of domestic violence, rebuild their lives and raise awareness to prevent domestic violence from occurring. Ryan is also donating many of Sherry’s clothes to this great organization. Information on this program can be found at www.thespring.org.
Alex’s Xmas for Kids is a non-profit organization that provides new bicycles to underprivileged children in Hillsborough County. They have donated over 20,000 bikes since 1990 and both Sherry & Ryan have volunteered for this organization in the past. Information on this charity can be found at www.alexsbbqtampa.com/xmas-kids.html.
Sherry has shown us just how precious life is, but we are thankful for the time we had together. We appreciate your consideration and just know that your gift is very much appreciated. Thank you.
