George 25th World Scout Jamboree 2023 South Korea

Hi I'm George

I’ve been lucky to be selected to go on the World Scout Jamboree 2023 in South Korea. To be given this opportunity of a lifetime is a tremendous honour and I’m so grateful. Scouting’s a huge part of my life. Ever since I joined Scouts at 6, I’ve been heavily involved with my Scout group and helped out wherever I can fundraising with jumble sales, Christmas Fayres, and participating in the pantomimes, all to raise money for the Scout Group. 

The World Scout Jamboree is an event held every 4 years where around 50,000 Scouts from over 150 different countries gather to meet, explore cultures and strengthen the bonds between each other. This is such an exciting opportunity, and I am really looking forward to the whole event. I need to raise £3,750, of which a proportion of this will contribute to ensuring other Scouts across the world in less fortunate positions can attend this once in a lifetime opportunity. 

I am raising funds individually and with my Unit, and many activities are planned to encourage teamwork and entrepreneurship.

Following on from the Fire Walk my next big venture is a sponsored 25km hike and 175km cycle on the South Downs.
