Get Derrick to the Robotics World Championships!

Hi, my name is Traci. I have created this fundraiser for my wonderful neighbors, the Tyus family. If you don't know us or our circle (literal circle) of the greatest neighbors EVER, we are one big family village. We all take on the tasks of helping and building each other up for a variety of reasons: Forgot something at the store? We gotcha. Sick? We gotcha. Get held up and need someone to pick up your kids at school? Check. Emergency childcare? No problem. Impromptu block parties? That too. Celebrating milestones/successes/failing forward? Count us in! We ALWAYS have each other's backs. This is no different, today's assignment is to help Derrick Tyus crush his goals and we will get the Tyus family there!

Now for the cool stuff! Derrick (and his team) Made it to WORLDS!

We (Melissa and Torrean) couldn’t be more proud of our son, Derrick, and his local robotics team! They’ve made it to the world championships in Dallas, next month. With a rapidly approaching deadline, we need your help!

Derrick and his team are incredible creators and work incredibly well together to make an outstanding bot. Let’s ensure we can get there and help them live out their dreams of participating in a world championship.

We need to raise $4000 for our costs and fees associated with getting to and competing in Dallas.

Derrick has big goals and has his sights set on someday attending Stanford University. His determination and hard work show us that he can and will accomplish this goal. Robotics, wrestling and football are his passions and we love to watch him thrive. His commitment and drive are unparalleled. He doesn’t let obstacles bring him down, he’s positive, kind-hearted and dedicated.

Please help us move this mountain to get him one step closer to his goal(s). We have every faith that our incredible, tight-knit community can help us reach this goal!
