Get me behind bars! Forensic rotation.

Well hello! I have searched for a forensic opportunity during residency, then faught through all the rules and regulations of the GME to finally get approved for an opportunity to learn at a local state hospital!

I NEED TO GET BEHIND BARS!!

The rotation is paid for. But your humbled servant of mental health needs some help. Help to rent a home for a month for the pups and I, gas costs for the multiple 1.5 hr drive to STL And Back .

We've been living on a tight budget the pups and I,and are not able to afford a rental.

Most of you have been beside me in the educational trenches, jumping in through this wild journey!

From the Bruce peninsula, to Toronto, Guelph and London Ontario, Canada. Then those of you who were shipwrecked on desert islands together, trecked in the lush green and white rapids of the Appalachian mountains. To end up on the gate to the west, Saint Louis. You have all been with me on this journey, one I graduate from this June.

At 40 years old I will be employed as a real psychiatrist! (whoaaaaa,! I know!) Hopefully to learn more about forensic populations, PTSD and veterans once licensed.

The State hospital experience will help to learn the different programs offered to the incarcerated mentally ill. If I want to work with such a difficult population, dedicate my life to a troubled area of humanity then I need to know I can handle it!

I will have programs including severe mental illness,( schizophrenia, mania), personality disorders so severe they cannot function in society, and sex offenders. I want to assure I can be objective. Can I return to being grounded? Can I maintain selfcare needed to thrive?

I would be grateful for your donation to help me rent a place, food, gas for the pups and I. During this last push with such an amazing opportunity I hope you choose to make this happen!
