Help Wealden Green Party prepare for the Election

Help Get Wealden Greens General Election Ready!

There’s a Green wave rising in Wealden. Thanks to your support, we smashed through 50 years of Conservative domination in our District Council elections last May. We now co-lead the Alliance for Wealden, committed to making Wealden a greener, fairer and kinder place for all.

When Greens stand in Wealden, we win. We won 79% of the seats we stood for at District Council. The Tories won 20%.

We now have a historic opportunity to elect two Greens to Parliament at the next General Election.

Help us make history, and give Wealden the loudest voice it's ever had in Westminster.

Wealden is now split into two constituencies:

Christina Coleman is standing for East Grinstead and Uckfield. Christina has lived and worked in the area for more than 20 years, and is currently a Wealden District Councillor for Danehill and Fletching. She was Chair of Wealden District Council until January, when she stepped down to begin campaigning for the General Election. As councillor, she has campaigned tirelessly to defend Wealden’s landscapes and waterways.

Christina says: “The complacency of recent decades has resulted in the selling-off of our environment, our health and our futures. People have had enough of overdevelopment without adequate services or infrastructure. Now more than ever, we need Green voices in Parliament.”

Rachel Millward is standing for Sussex Weald constituency, against incumbent Nus Ghani. Rachel is currently co-leader of Wealden District Council, where her key achievements include improving access to housing support for local people and holding Southern Water to account for their pollution of rivers & streams.

Rachel says: "These are challenging times. We're in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis and a climate crisis, and our politicians have been asleep on the job. The Green Party offers different solutions and a kinder, fairer, greener future. But if we're going to nurture that future we have to act now - this year, in this general election."

Why We Need Your Support.

This is new territory for Wealden Green Party. We know the Conservatives raise millions of pounds for their election campaigns. We can’t match that, but we can target effectively to get ready for a campaign. Raising £10,000 now will allow us to bolster our long campaigns and be ready to hit the ground running when the election is called. Your support will go towards…

- Designing & printing candidate introduction literature - £4,000
- 100 boosted posts on social media - £2,000
- Delivery of 10,000 pieces of literature - £1,000
- Two candidate deposits - £1,000
- 50 poster boards - £900
- Printed survey to find out voter issues in the constituencies - £145

Thank you very much for your support - and let’s keep the Green wave rising in Wealden.
