Give Olivia and her siblings The best Christmas

Hi, my name is Amanda and I am Olivia’s Grandma.

Olivia was diagnosed with a brain tumour in June this year after a short bout of sickness.

She was rushed to Addenbrooks hospital in Cambridge for an emergency operation to drain a build up of fluid in her brain and then 3 days later underwent an 8 hour surgery to remove the tumour.

The type of cancer she has is Medulloblastoma grade 3 which is high risk because unfortunately it has spread to her spine.

Since June Olivia has had multiple procedures, including placement of central port into her chest, lumber punctures and many blood transfusions. 2 rounds of holding Chemo which are 5 days at a time and 6 weeks of radiotherapy, all where she and her mum (my daughter Holly) had to stay away from home and her other 3 young children which as you can imagine has been extremely stressful for everyone. Olivia had to celebrate her 5th birthday having radiotherapy where she needed to be anesthetised every day for 6 weeks.

Olivia and her mum are now home for a short while before her next procedure of Ovary harvest and then will go on to have around 9 months of chemotherapy. During Chemo she is at high risk of infection and so she is often not able to go out so we have decided we want to give her a fantastic Christmas at home by turning home into a Christmas grotto!

The problem is with 4 young children and Olivia’s Cancer, Holly is unable to work and the financial burden even being able to get Olivia to treatment as well as all the extra things Olivia needs in the home has been nearly impossible and is ongoing but she’s been through so much that we feel she and her siblings deserve to have the best Christmas! That is why we are asking for your help!
