My name is Tony Rizzo and I am the head coach at West Aurora High School from Boys and Girls Cross Country. Megan Sporny is a freshman, elite runner who has been diagnosed with high grade Glioma cancer. There was a season ending surgical procedure which is now resulting in radiation and chemotherapy over the next year. The medical bills will begin piling up for the family and this is positive means to help alleviate those bills so that they can concentrate on Megan being a healthy teenager. If you would be so kind as to donate anything, and I mean anything, I will be greatly indebted to you and your team/family. This has been an extremely emotional season and also time for Megan and the Sporny's, who are committed Cross Country parents forever entwined into the running community. Please help me help Megan get back to school so that she can once again, be a teenager. Thanks, Tony Rizzo 02-15-2019 UPDATE: Here is a short update on Megan and her status. She is receiving radiation treatments as well as chemotherapy. He is in attendance at school on a regular basis and returning to some sort of normalcy. She is; however, losing some weight and does not have the best of appetites at the moment. Physical therapy has been going well and she is getting stronger each and every day and plans to return to an athletic routine in March or April. As far as the cancer, there are no further updates at the moment, but when I do have them, I will report back. Thanks to all of you who have donated to the much deserving teenager and keeping her spirits up. It means a lot to me, as well as her.
