Growing Up Black Growing Up Wanda

Hi, I'm Wanda Ewing's older sister Mona. It will be nine years since she died from lung cancer complications. But her work, her voice, and what she means to the art world, Students, women, and life, are still essential and robust. So, a few of her friends, a former colleague, and her family thought it was time for the world to see more of her work. But this work is from her Senior Year as an undergrad art student in S.F.
Growing Up Black Growing Up Wanda is the start of her journey of discovery, love, and acceptance of what it means to love yourself, understand how you look in & at the world, and how to pave your way in it. There will be a show of this work during the weekend of Oct 14, 2022, in Omaha, NE, at these three galleries: RBRG Gallary, The Union, and Gallary 1516. We will have a book for sale of her early work, a showing of her Senior Project, "The Book - Growing Up Black Growing Black," and speakers discussing how Wanda's work helped shape their path and journey.
We are asking people to donate to this event to help pay for the production of her book. The sale of her book will go to her scholarship at the University of Omaha. This scholarship helps undergraduate art students with supplies, tuition, and books.
