Heaps Estrin Saint Vincent Volcano Disaster Relief
Donation protected
The La Soufrière volcano in the small Eastern Caribbean island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines erupted on April 9th 2021 for the first time in 42 years.
This natural disaster has displaced tens of thousands of people from their homes and has uprooted families as they have been forced to leave everything behind and flee St. Vincent and the Grenadines with just a backpack to seek refuge in neighbouring countries like Barbados, Dominica, Antigua & Barbuda and Saint Lucia. Many were already impacted economically by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The situation is getting worst with each passing day since the April 9, 2021 eruption. The power has now gone out in many households, and there is a water shortage as ash covers everything.
KLC Freight in Toronto has agreed to offer free storage and shipment of relief supplies from Canada to the National Emergency Management organization of SVG (NEMO).
The Heaps Estrin Real Estate Team has set up this GoFundMe page to reach out to our community to help with our effort in providing residents of St. Vincent and the Grenadines with supplies through KLC Shippers in Toronto.
Our President and CEO, Cailey Heaps, grew up on the neighbouring island of Saint Lucia.
With many friends, family members and businesses affected by the devastation, we wanted to be able to give back as much as possible.
Using the funds raised, The Heaps Estrin Team will purchase in-demand supplies and ship them to St. Vincent and the Grenadines with KLC Freight.
Items needed:
Folding cots, blankets, tents 10 x 10 or 20 x 20 ft, sleeping mats/bags, reflective vests, caution tape, hygiene kits, non-perishable food items, new clothing, 5-gallon buckets, sheets for sealing ventilated rooms, PPE - masks, goggles, hygiene & first aid kits, toothpaste/toothbrushes, soap, toilet paper, sanitary napkins, pampers, wipes, disposable utensils and cutlery, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, flashlights and more.
We are looking to have the first batch of items shipped out before the end of the week and will continue to send supplies as needed.
