Help Hometown Hero & Army Vet Terrel Secure a Family Vehicle

Terrel's integrity has long been a source of admiration among community leaders, but in light of recent developments, his reputation has only grown stronger. Local Pastor, Dr. Eric Majette, Marketplace Community Leader, and Senior Pastor of New Life Church Global in Franklin, VA, has fully endorsed Terrel, further solidifying his standing as a highly respected figure in the community and the call to action of community and societal support.

On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, Terrel was sitting on his porch talking to his brother when suddenly things took a turn. A young girl and boy who were playing in the neighborhood ran and screamed that there was a man chasing them with a knife asking them about a phone. The little boy ran into his home to alert his family, but the little girl had nowhere to run so she found Terrel who was sitting on his porch. Once she explained to him what was happening, Terrel got up and saw the man a few yards away holding what appeared to be two knives. He went into the house to grab his firearm and as he was coming back he could hear his brother saying “hurry bro, he's coming”. Terrel loaded his gun and asked the man multiple times to leave and go in the other direction. After a brief but scary standoff, Terrel eventually de-escalated the situation and got the man to leave as his wife Rachel called 911. The police came promptly and went to the man's house and took him away. We later found out the man was a mental patient and was having a psychotic break. The man is now being treated at a local hospital and the children are safe.

Terrel is an Army Veteran who has been diagnosed with PTSD and he has been battling with the VA for years to get the treatment he needs but has had his claim denied on multiple occasions. This incident has only made things harder.

Terrel is a loving husband and father and he is also a leader in his community. Currently, he and his family have been without an adequate vehicle to accommodate the size of their family since October 2023.

We are organizing this GoFundMe in hopes to raise enough money to get a new SUV for Terrel and his family today! Help us reach our goal by donating. No donation is too small and all are appreciated!
