Help Burak Recover from a Major Bicycle Accident

Hi everyone,

I’m writing to share news of Burak, who is a loving father to our son August. Last week, while we were visiting together in Montreal, Burak had a serious bicycle accident. The impact resulted in a concussion, trauma to his face, and multiple fractures with an occipital condyle fracture being the most concerning. Occipital condyle fractures are traumatic injuries that involve articulation between the base of the skull and the cervical spine. This type of injury requires a long recovery period and he will need to wear a rigid cervical collar for 6 weeks.

I’m writing today to seek your support to help cover his medical expenses so that he can focus primarily on his recovery, especially during the next couple weeks.

The total medical expenses for his treatment are estimated to be $3000. This includes the ambulance, hospital stay, CT scans, medications, and follow-up visits. This amount doesn’t account for lost income due to his need to rest and take a break from his projects during the next couple weeks. We are grateful he can turn to his friends, family and the broader community for additional support during this challenging time.
