Help Cover Cost for Type 1 Diabetes Supplies

Donation protected
Hi, My name is Grace and I have been a Type 1 Diabetic since I was 9 years old (17 years.)
I am full-time freelance graphic designer and a mother of two wonderful children. I'm reaching out to you today in a time of need, and I hope you can lend a helping hand.

The Challenge:

Recently, I faced a difficult situation when I found myself without insurance coverage for one month. This gap in coverage has resulted in an overdue bill for my vital insulin pump supplies. Currently, I'm insured, but I can't receive new supplies until this bill is paid. This situation has left me in a challenging predicament, as I now rely on needle injections 10-12 times a day and test my blood sugar 10 or more times daily. The constant injections have taken a toll, leaving me with extensive scar tissue, which makes managing my diabetes even more difficult.

What is an Insulin Pump and Dexcom Sensor?

An insulin pump is not just a device; it's a lifeline. It continuously delivers the insulin I need to keep my blood sugar levels stable throughout the day, replacing the need for multiple daily injections. Additionally, the Dexcom sensor constantly monitors my blood sugar levels, allowing me to make informed adjustments to keep my glucose levels within a healthy range. These devices have significantly improved my quality of life, allowing me to maintain better control of my diabetes, reducing the risk of complications, and ultimately keeping me healthy and alive.

Why Your Support Matters:

Without these essential supplies, my life is at risk. A lack of a functioning pump means that I could experience dangerously low blood sugars in my sleep without an alarm to alert me. This isn't just about comfort; it's about survival.

The Struggles of Motherhood:

As a mother, my health is not just important for me but for my two children who depend on me every day. Ensuring my well-being is crucial to provide for and take care of my family. With my insulin pump and Dexcom sensor, I can manage my diabetes effectively, keeping me healthy, active, and present for my kids. It's a lifeline that allows me to be the best mom I can be.

How You Can Help:

I'm humbly asking for your support to cover the costs of the overdue bill for my insulin pump supplies. Your contribution will not only help me regain access to these life-saving devices but also secure the well-being and future of my family. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a significant impact.

Please donate to my GoFundMe fundraiser and share it with your friends and family. Your generosity and support will not only change my life but also help me continue to be the best mother I can be for my children. Thank you for standing by me in this challenging time, and I am immensely grateful for your kindness and compassion.
