Help cover monthly expense during surg recovery

Hello. We are trying to raise money to help my sister cover monthly expenses while her daughter recovers from the first, of a series, of surgeries.

My niece Lacie is 11 years old, and for the past few years, symptoms that she has battled most of her life have gotten increasingly worse. She was sent to several specialists and nobody was ever able to give her mom any answers. She was finally able to get an MRI scheduled for January 2024.

On 11/2/23 Lacie began a typical school day. While on her way to lunch, she slipped and fell, hitting her head and losing consciousness. Lacie was transported to the local ER where doctors discovered a large mass in her central brain. Lacie was then transported to Children's Hospital. Upon arrival there, they discovered an accumulation of spinal fluid in her brain, caused by the mass, blocking the flow of fluid to her spinal cord.

They scheduled emergency surgery to relieve the pressure for later on today, however, that is only the beginning. While they are attempting to correct that issue, they will also be trying to biopsy the mass so that they can decide the best plan of action from there.

According to the medical professionals at Children's, what my niece has, is very rare, and while we are all trying to remain optimistic, this is a very scary situation.

My sister is fiercely independent and works incredibly hard to make sure that her children and her home are always taken care of. This situation has put my sister in a very difficult position to say the least. She needs to physically be there to support Lacie through this, but also needs to continue to pay for her monthly expenses. Her fiance has been helping with getting the other 3 children to and from daycare/school as well as daily care, but with my sister's income being the primary one, they really need some help. My sister recently started a new job and doesn't qualify for FMLA until next year, so she is worried about how she'll be there for her first born and also be able to make sure the rest of her family isn't struggling.

Lacie went through a series of three surgery’s. Very difficult recovery, and now facing some on going conditions. We ask for prayers and support during this time. Lacie has multiple doctors appointments and I am trying to balance work, kids school, a toddler and full time care for Lacie. It’s not been an easy journey but I’m so thankful my baby is home.
