Help Dillan stay with his boys!

Donation protected

Hi there, my name is Lizzie and I am fundraising for my friend Dillan,

Here is a bit of a backstory... Dillan's Wife and their two boys moved to Cornwall in 2015. After a long struggle and many obstacles Dillan was finally able to join them in July 2017, this was the longest two years of his life but he refused to give up! After an exceptionally long and stressful process he received his residence permit in 2018, whilst he was waiting for his residence permit, he was not allowed to work which added extra financial strain on the Family, the day after he received his residence permit, he started working.

Dillan is now working as a Care Worker and he mainly works with people with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health and he also does 1:1 with the Elderly.

Dillan himself has ADHD and also has Bipolar which can sometimes be particularly challenging and stressful on the family. Dillan does not see his diagnosis as a burden, but rather as a way to better understand his patients due to his own challenges. He is deeply passionate about his job and loves every minute of it, he works for Newcross Healthcare and his reviews are rated excellent at 97 percent, he takes pride in his work and is very dedicated and hardworking, he works extra-long hours to ensure that he can provide for his two boys.

Dillan’s Residence Permit has come up for renewal on the 5th of May, the Home Office have increased the application fee by nearly double compared to his last application, unfortunately he does not have this type of money to renew this permit which is now putting him and his boys at risk of being separated as he will be forced to go back to South Africa if he does not come up with the funds.

Dillan was also planning to start a Nursing Degree this year in Mental Health but this will have to be put on the backburner for now.

Without a doubt is he a real asset to the UK, we definitely need more people like him to stay in our community – someone that cares and makes a difference.

Dillan does not claim any benefits or rely on any public funds, I am trying to raise £4,000 to help him financially. it would be heart breaking and sad to see him and his boys split up from each other due to a fee he cannot afford to pay, it would be very traumatising for Dillan, his boys who are aged 10 and 8 if they have to be apart from each other again, it certainly will not be good for Dillan's Mental Health if he has to leave the boys behind. His boys are British Citizens and they are settled and happy at their school, his eldest has ADHD and Autism and he needs his Father around.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated – no matter how big or small.

I will be handling the payments to all the relevant authorities.

Thanking everyone in advance.

Statement from his colleague: I work with Dillan and he is well-known in Newcross for the outstanding work he is doing. Please help this family so that they can stay together and not be apart because of extravagant fees at home office charges for renewal. We are reaching out to the public and would greatly appreciate it if anybody can help donate towards his funding so that he can get his resident permit renewed. He has 10 days to come up with the money. Dillan has been making a difference in people’s lives – so let us help him now. Let us help him and his boys stay together, let’s help this family. I could not think of anything worse than being split from your kids, especially at such a young tender age.
