Help Save Our Drag/LGBTQIA+++ Bar -

Dear supporters and friends, We are reaching out to you today with an urgent plea for help. Our beloved queer bar and Dragbar is in danger with local authorities due to a lack of permits for various aspects of our establishment. Recently, we were unexpectedly approached by the Geemente after being reported by neighbors and locals. In a meeting with senior management, inspectors, legal representatives, and a translator, we were shown photos of the front of our bar covered in circles, indicating the lack of necessary permits. While we have maintained the same appearance at the front of our bar for years, we were informed that we need permits for everything - from our alarm system and flag pole holders to lights in the windows and even our fabric signage. The authorities have demanded that our fabric signage be replaced with a different material, our sign size changed dramatically, and our lighting upgraded to a much heavier and larger scale to comply with regulations. We are facing significant financial burdens to meet these demands and are at risk of closure if we cannot raise the necessary funds to cover the costs of permits and renovations. We believe in the importance of our queer space as a safe and inclusive environment for our community, and we are determined to fight for its survival. Help red onze Drag/LGBTQIA+++ Bar - Beste supporters en vrienden, We doen vandaag een dringende oproep om hulp. Onze geliefde queer bar en Dragbar zijn in gevaar bij de lokale autoriteiten vanwege een gebrek aan vergunningen voor verschillende aspecten van onze vestiging. Onlangs werden we onverwacht benaderd door de Geemente nadat we waren aangegeven door buren en lokale bewoners. In een vergadering met het senior management, inspecteurs, juridische vertegenwoordigers en een vertaler, kregen we foto's te zien van de voorkant van onze bar die bedekt waren met cirkels, wat duidt op het ontbreken van de vereiste vergunningen. Hoewel we jarenlang hetzelfde uiterlijk aan de voorkant van onze bar hebben behouden, kregen we te horen dat we vergunningen nodig hebben voor alles - van ons alarmsysteem en vlaggenstokhouders tot verlichting in de ramen en zelfs onze stoffen bewegwijzering. De autoriteiten hebben geëist dat onze stoffen bewegwijzering wordt vervangen door een ander materiaal, onze bordgrootte drastisch wordt vergroot en onze verlichting wordt opgewaardeerd naar een veel zwaardere vorm.
