Help Ease the Burden for Wally's Loved Ones

Donation protected

Wallace "Wally" Dean Wasson went to be with the Lord, and his daughter, Kayla, in the morning of June 27th, 2024. His life was taken at the age of only 56, leaving behind his wife, Julie Wasson, and son, Travis Wasson.

On May 25th, my uncle Wally began not feeling well. That evening he ended up going into a Cardiac Arrest. His wife was able to perform CPR on him until the paramedics rushed him to the ER. By this time, he had already coded 2 times. They were able to get him into somewhat of a stable condition, but sadly he had slipped into a coma. They ended up life flighting him to Columbia.

After all the testing, MRIs, and CAT scans were done, the family received devastating news. They were told there wasn't a lot of hope for my uncle. The damage was catastrophic in his brain.

After being in a comatose state for several weeks, the decision was made for him to come to spend his last days at home with his wife and son instead of being spent in a nursing home.

As heartbreaking as it was for his wife to see him that way, she never left his side. She put working on the backburner and focused on ensuring to be there for Wally, holding his hands, just in case. Till death do us part.

To say this death was heartbreaking for our family, doesn't even begin to explain it. Merely 8 short months ago, we lost my beautiful cousin Kayla "Wasson" Tobaben, at 27 years old, after a long battle with cancer. Kayla was Wally and Julie's daughter.

Julie hasn't even processed losing and grieving her daughter, yet now she has to grieve her best friend and husband.

These life-altering circumstances have left a huge financial burden on my aunt and family. Julie has been unable to work throughout this time since she hasn't left Wally's side. Still paying on the funeral expenses of her daughter, bills piling up, and now having to find a way to pay the medical expenses for Wally, along with the funds to cover a funeral/burial, it's safe to say, she needs help!!

Let me tell you a little about my uncle Wally. Wally was one that was never fake. If you crossed him he sure wasn't putting on a fake smile. He was pretty straightforward, always seeming to have a wall up. He was just a hard-working man from a young age, always concentrating on making a better life for his family. If you were to get past his wall, you got to see the biggest heart and kindest man. Wally was the type of man to drop anything to help those he loved. He enjoyed making people happy, especially his little buddy, Aiden (grandson). Aiden was Wally's world!! He became even closer to him after losing Kayla. He took care of Aiden almost daily even on the day everything turned upside down.

Wally will be greatly missed by his whole family, especially his wife and son. Life will never be the same for Julie and Travis. Fortunately, the family will come together once more and pull through this tragedy too.

The family would appreciate any donation to help during this difficult time to help cover the cost of the funeral/burial. However, prayers for the family's peace are just as valuable and greatly needed.
