Help Emyr Get a Life-Changing Service Dog
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Emyr and I am raising money to purchase a service dog. For the past five years my health has been in a decline, now, at 24, my doctors found I have a degenerative arthritic, systemic autoimmune disease that will effect me for the rest of my life. Mobility and daily tasks are becoming more difficult for me to perform. Along with that I suffer from anxiety and depression caused by my disease. I plan on training the dog to do tasks such as fetching medicine, opening and closing doors, fetching cane, and helping with basic mobility tasks such as going from sitting go standing. I also want to teach them how to assist me with anxiety attacks and perform deep pressure therapy.
I want to get back out and enjoy life. Disability flares prevent me from going out without assistance, and a service dog would grant me that freedom once again.
Service dogs are very expensive, but I grew up doing basic training to our farm dogs and have the confidence in training my own. If my goal somehow gets high enough that I could purchase an already trained dog - great! If not, my current goal is 5k to cover the price of the dog, basic equipment, and other simple necessities to get my furry friend home.
Thank you for taking the time to read and donate!
