Firas, a 43-year-old taxi driver, had to make the unthinkable decision to flee his home in northern Gaza with his wife and five young children - Mohammed (14), Karim (9), Sarah (8), and infant twins Malak and Sham (1 year, 3 months) - when intense bombing shattered their lives on October 7, 2023.

A Childhood Marred by Trauma and Deprivation

Over the next 240 excruciating days, the family took shelter in 8 different locations, barely surviving with few belongings as they witnessed devastation all around. Their main income source, Firas's taxi, was destroyed, pushing them into financial ruin.

The children have endured mental trauma and lack of basic needs no child should ever experience:
