Help for the Angakuei Community (Paul's Village)

Donation protected
I have to start this story with Paul Kut Kelei. He came from South Sudan in 2012 to Fulton, MO, to go to college at Westminster College. He was assigned to our Host Family by the college’s Friendship Family Program. I believe this was Divine Providence. We love Paul and he became a part of our family here in Fulton, MO. Paul went back to his home in the Angakuei Community in South Sudan where he has worked with the Greenbelt Academy (www.education-bridge.org) mentoring and supporting local youth in higher education. We were so excited to learn that Paul will be coming back to Fulton to continue his education at Westminster College in the fall of 2022! Then we got a terrible message from him…..

Horror, grief and terror struck Paul’s village as armed militants came and gunned down and murdered 32 of his friends and family on January, 23rd. Three children drowned in the river as they tried to run away. (the picture above shows them burying the many dead) Another 17 were wounded and needed hospital care. Homes were burned to the ground and all of their cattle were stolen. The cattle are the livelihood of this community. Many lost all their food stores and now have no home and no food. The South Sudan government has fallen apart and therefore offers no help. They do not have insurance to cover costs to rebuild. They desperately need the kindness of other communities to help them rebuild. Paul has reached out to his family and friends here in Fulton, MO and all across the USA and asked for our prayers and for monetary support. He has been instrumental in getting immediate help to those who were most vulnerable such as those children who were orphaned by the attack. Paul is asking with a broken heart if we can help support his people. We here in the USA have been so blessed…...we can help this community that has been left in ruins. Please, Please… donate to this fund and help out. The funds will all go into a Non-profit account set up at the Callaway Bank in Fulton, MO and then sent to a Non-profit organization in Bor, South Sudan who have committed to help the people of Angakuei. The following link is an article from the UN that described the attack: https://bit.ly/3AwsY1a. The Non-Profit Organization in South Sudan is the Salaam Action Network, of which Paul Kut Kelei has confirmed their legitimacy and help. This Non-profit has contacted me and has committed to distributing the funds gathered for the greatest needs in the Angakuei community. Thank you for your kindness and compassion as you consider giving to this community who desperately needs your help.
