Help Fulfill Deceased Veteran Jose's Last Wish

Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit Veterans For Peace (VFP) member Jose Alanz Amaro, a recently deceased deported USMC Veteran, and his family; any donation will help make an impact.

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of US Marine Corporal Jose Alaniz Amaro. Corporal Alaniz passed away on May 18, 2024, in his home in Monterrey, Mexico. He was away from his family while awaiting approval for humanitarian parole and veteran benefits to return to the USA for the medical care he deserved.

Jose is the fifth Veteran in 2024 to die in exile while awaiting approval of humanitarian parole to obtain the life-saving health care they had earned.

He was the only member of his family to serve in the military, where he served for four years before being honorably discharged. Despite his honorable service, he faced the hardship of deportation and lived in Monterrey, Mexico, separated from his family and the country he so bravely defended. Jose remained a devoted veteran throughout his life, always upholding the Marine Corps values of honor, courage, and commitment. Veteran Alaniz served from 1985 to 1989, earning him:
Good Conduct Medal
Rifle Expert Badge 4th award
Pistol Expert Badge 2nd award
Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 1 star

Our Goal:
We are seeking to raise funds to cover the costs of Jose's funeral services, including cremation, an urn, and the transportation of his remains to El Paso, Texas. Our hope is to inter Jose at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, fulfilling his final wish to be laid to rest with the honor and respect he deserves.

Breakdown of Expenses:
Cremation services (includes urn)
Transportation of remains
Burial services at Fort Bliss National Cemetery
Transportation and lodging for his wife and son.

How You Can Help:
Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in honoring Jose's memory, life, and service. Please consider donating to help us provide Jose with the respectful and dignified farewell he deserves. Additionally, sharing this fundraiser with your network will help us reach our goal and ensure that Jose's story is heard by as many people as possible

Jose Alaniz Amaro gave his all in service to his country. We can now give back to him by ensuring he is laid to rest with the honor befitting a US Marine Corps veteran. We deeply appreciate your support and generosity during this difficult time. Thank you for helping us honor Jose’s legacy.
