Help Jo Ann Rebuild SOS Feline Rescue

Save Our Strays Feline Rescue is the name of this rescue in Fort Myers, Florida. My name is Jo Ann Knobloch, the founder of SOS. I have been involved with cat rescue and kitten rescue for almost 20 years. I was very involved in the TNR program when it first started and fixed over 400 cats through that program. I worked with other rescues and 2 years ago, friends of mine kept saying you need to start your own rescue because you're not getting the donations. They are Jo with my husband's help. We filed all the paperwork it took about 6 months and then officially I was a rescue.

It is very tough because we got hit very badly by the hurricane here on the beach. Everything is destroyed. I lost the volunteers that I had because they all lost their homes and moved. That's why I have no volunteers at all. Now everyone is trying to rebuild homes, repair homes. I'm still repairing mine. I lost everything. I lost 10 of my cats which I'm still mourning over and have PTSD from all I went through that day. Lost all my cat trees, over a dozen litter cages, carriers. Everything that was in my first level gone and the whole first level had to be totally rebuilt. So far I have gotten nothing from flood and it doesn't look like I am going to get anything.

My attorney kept house insurance open because we are going to have more things that will put it over the deductible amount. They declined anything because they said it wasn't over the deductible. Well, it is and now I find out I have to replace windows and doors all throughout the house because the winds move and mess them up and they need to be replaced. That is going to be a big hit about 130,000 so I've got to get a good adjuster to help with all this. So on top of everything that I'm doing I have all this hurricane stuff to deal with. My 22 and 23 taxes are not done yet. I've got so much that has to be done paperwork. What have you and running the rescue is taking so much of my time that I don't have time for all the other stuff. It's really rough and I welcome any help.

Some gals that run dog rescues are going to try and put some things on next door to try and find me some fosters which I need desperately and volunteers to maybe come here and help out. I have enough cages right now that people have donated and but I could use some more good litter boxes and always can use litter of course. I was so excited to hear from you and your eagerness to help me. Hopefully, the Lord and guardian angels are watching over me and trying to find me.
