Help Jonah sleep safely

Donation protected
Hi, we are Keely & Steven Alexander, the parents of Jonah Alexander. Last year Jonah was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder just before his 2nd birthday. He is currently in therapy at the Monroe ISD & since he’s nonverbal we’re hoping to get him into speech therapy real soon! For the most part he is a happy-go-lucky kid, but since Jonah is unable to communicate he gets easily upset & frustrated which also results into him hitting his head off the floor or any hard surface. He’s had bruising & even cuts on his head because of how hard he does it. At night for the past about 4 months or so it’s become an absolute nightmare for Jonah to go to sleep. He gets very destructive and will break his toys, climb anything to get to things he’s not supposed to, will slam his head into the door or floor repeatedly etc. all in all it’s miserable for him to deal with that on a nightly basis. I’ve come to the conclusion that the only solution will be for him to be completely enclosed in a cubby bed so he can’t reach objects he’s not supposed to or hurt himself. His room no matter what I do or buy is simply what I like to call not “Jonah proof”. Jonah likes to be in small spaces. It makes him feel the most comfortable! I feel like the Cubby bed will help him be able to relax & sleep peacefully. What we weren’t expecting was the process to get the Cubby bed would take an extreme amount of time as it’s been months & still nothing! We are getting the wraparound with the insurance company/his pediatrician seems to not be taking the situation seriously which leaves us frustrated & desperate. Jonah’s safety is our main priority & we feel like we’re being ignored. We can’t wait around until Jonah gets seriously hurt & we know that’s going to happen sooner than later. At this point he’s a safety hazard to himself despite the precautions we’ve tried. If possible please help Steven and I ease our minds at night & most importantly help Jonah be able to sleep in his own room safely. Thank you ❤️

(The cubby bed is roughly $13,000, that’s why we’re asking for $10,000. We believe we can come up with a few grand ourselves. If we don’t reach our goal we will use the money to buy a less expensive bed that will be temporary, & things like padded flooring, safety outlets etc. to try to make his room as safe as we can. You may ask why do we need this expensive bed when there is other similar options. The reason is, this bed should be able to last Jonah until he is in his adult age, hopefully by then he can be in a “normal” bed. We don’t want to worry about buying/trying a bunch of other products when we can fix the problem with this one bed.)
