Help Lakyn Lose An Organ (Gallbladder Removal)
I'm a 27-year-old chronically-ill fashion designer and former *worker* who, like many, has been struggling due to COVID. I have a history of Chron's as well as liver disease called primary sclerosing cholangitis, so, I'm fairly used to dealing with the related symptoms. However, when I was admitted to the hospital on March 12, 2021 with major stomach pains radiating in my chest and back and making it difficult to breathe, I knew something was majorly wrong. Unfortunately, it turns out, it was an entirely different organ giving me grief.
I was diagnosed with gallbladder "sludge" (which is apparently the last step before gallstones) and told that I had weeks until my gallbladder potentially ruptured or worse (I didn't ask what's worse than a rupture). I was advised to get my gallbladder removed within ten days. In the meantime, I've hardly been able to eat due to persistent pain and vomiting, even with anti-nausea medication.
Due to COVID, I can no longer afford the insurance premiums of someone with pre-existing conditions and, as a self-employed person, it's not easy to find financial assistance that I qualify for.
I come, humbled, against my very stubborn Taurean nature asking for any help with my upcoming and most recent medical expenses, including:
-gallbladder removal surgery
-living expenses during recovery (2-3 weeks)
-the ambulance and hospital stay from March 12
-medications
Thank you for reading and for any and all support including sharing.
