Hello, this is Leigha's parents; Travanti and Millinda Davenport. In july, We noticed our daughter walking a bit different than usual and quickly took her to a orthopedic doctor thinking she may have injured herself playing at the park. That is when we got unexpected news that our daughter possibly had cancer. We had to rush to a cancer center an hour away to talk to a specialist regarding the mass found in Leigha's femur. She had to get a MRI and a biopsy done that very next week to figure out if it was cancerous. After just 4 days of her biopsy, it was confirmed our baby girl had osteosarcoma which is a aggressive bone cancer. With that being said you have treat it just as fast and aggressive as it is. We are absolutely devastated at this point. Not even a week later she had her port put in for her chemo treatments. On August 9th she began chemotherapy and its been a really rough start. This is only the beginning of our journey and alot of things are not cover through her insurance such as some of her medications and her MRI's. Her treatment involves multiple sessions of chemotherapy, surgery and then another set of multiple chemotherapy sessions. This is a long, nerve racking and emotional process for us as a family. We would appreciate any support and donations that we could get so we can make sure our baby girl is fully covered during this process. Thank you for taking the time to read about our beautiful daughter. If your interested in keeping with her story she has a page on facebook called Livin' Life with LeLe.
