Help Lor Get Healthcare & Safety
Donation protected
Hello wonderful folks,
We are on a mission to help our beloved friend, Lor, get back out to California in order to get critical medical care and live in a safe and inclusive community where they can live fully as their beautiful, nonbinary, fat, queer, disabled self.
Horrified by the anti trans, anti queer, discriminatory laws being proposed and passed around the country? Have you wanted to help rescue your queer family members trapped in unsafe environments in the South, but haven’t known how to make a difference? Well here is your chance to make a direct difference in a beautiful queer’s life by helping them return to California where they will be able to secure access to healthcare, safe housing and community.
We are asking for help raising funds urgently. We will be going to pick Lor up next week from Georgia and driving across country with them. The funds will go directly towards travel expenses to move Lor back to California and living essentials (food, gas, medical care, etc). Travel estimates are $800 for lodging, $400 for gas, $400 for food, and $600 for a buffer once they land. Thank you so much for caring and giving what you are able at this time!
Please pass this Go Fund Me along to others you know who would want to donate to help rescue a beautiful queer soul from a truly difficult situation.
Lor is truly one of the most kind, loving, generous, sensitive, and thoughtful people I have ever met. They have been unable to work due to serious medical issues and had to make the incredibly difficult decision to move in with family in the South in order to survive. However, over the last 2 years they have been met with some deeply entrenched transphobia, fatphobia, and ablesim in addition to having been denied Medicaid in Georgia twice.
Lor’s parents have been their main source of financial support, but their dad recently lost his job and after 3 months of being unemployed, are unable to offer the level of support that they have been. Lor is in the long and nightmarish process of getting disability benefits, but the process usually takes 2 years or more. While Lor is working on getting social security disability benefits they could really use our help!! ✨✨
Thanks again for all of your love, care, and support!
