Elmwoof Dog Park
Donation protected
Exercise and socialization lead to healthier and better-behaved pets, but there are ZERO dog parks south of I-30 in Dallas. How can we even begin to tackle the southern Dallas dog problem without neighborhood-level solutions that encourage and educate our communities?
Elmwoof Dog Park is located at 2100 South Edgefield Ave. across from Margaret B. Henderson Elementary School. Since 2013, it has been the site of pop-up events that attract 2- and 4-legged residents from Elmwood and beyond.
Phase One is a $10,000 project consisting of 48 panels of modular, powder-coated chain link fencing measuring 6’ x 5’ each, one gate and up to 2,000 sq.ft of red decomposed granite. As funds allow, paneling can be added to expand the fence and total square footage. A future phase will consist of permanent structures built to City of Dallas Park & Recreation design standards.
