Help Me Save the Pinkies
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Posey, aka Pamela Moulton. I am an artist who makes sculptures with repurposed materials. Lately I have fallen in love with nets and ropes, addressing the ghost gear crisis and its damage to the environment through my art. For the past two years the Pinkies have been a community gathering place in Portland's Payson Park, inspiring writers, musicians and dancers as well as playing host to birthday parties, yoga sessions and idle daydreamers. Over 5000 individuals helped me create these sculptures, truly community art!
Now their time here is over...
I need to move them out of the park and
to my studio by MAY 31!
Your donations will help fund two days of de-installation and transportation. The cast of characters will include a giant crane, a 40 ft trailer, an excavator/fork-lift to move them inside and 3 skilled operators wearing safety vests to make sure this all happens without harming our darling Pinkies. (I'm sure a pizza or two will make an appearance as well).
Funding will also enable me to purchase the highest grade adhesive primers and paints to protect the sculptures for years to come. I hope to complete this weatherproofing and re-surfacing by July 15th.
It is daunting to move large public art, one sculpture is a challenge... but 3!!!! YIKES! I am completely grateful for your generous support. Thank you so much!
