Help Michelle Maxwells (Muise) battle with cancer

Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Luke Murphy. I'm Michelle Maxwell's (Muise) nephew.

I'm reaching out today with a heavy heart as I share the story of our dear family member and friend to so many, Michelle, who is courageously and gracefully battling terminal cancer.

Michelle was recently diagnosed with stage 4 uterine cancer that has metastasized to her lungs. With treatment, her doctors have given her between twelve to eighteen months to spend alongside her friends and family. She is currently undergoing rounds of chemotherapy in the hope that it will reduce pain and prolong the precious time she was given.

Anyone who knows Michelle undoubtedly appreciates her sense of humour, ability to empathize with others and her compassion for those in need. Michelle has made it her life's work as a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA), caring for those in poor health who are often vulnerable and in need of a helping hand. Through her work, Michelle has made lifelong connections with patients and coworkers alike, so many of which have reached out to me to express their appreciation and respect for her work ethic and commitment to helping others.

Michelle and her husband, Bob (Maxwell), have been together for over twenty years and recently celebrated their third wedding anniversary. They have lived in Wedgeport for the majority of their time together, close to many immediate family members and close friends. She is the glue in our family, always the first to organize any family gatherings for holidays and special events as she values her family so dearly.

Michelle has always stepped up for others and I'm hoping that others will do the same for her in her time of need. I'm organizing this fundraiser for the purpose of relieving the financial pressures on Michelle and Bob as this illness has prevented them from the ability to work.

Everyone knows someone - be it a family member, a friend, or a friend-of-a-friend- who has been touched by cancer. It affects all aspects of life, including the emotional, physical and financial burdens that accompany the disease.

Please help us in alleviating Michelle and Bob's financial burden during this incredibly difficult time. No one faced with this prognosis should have to worry about making ends meet. Absolutely anything helps and we are so grateful for those of you who consider a contribution.

Thank you for taking the time to read about Michelle's story. Bless you all.
