Help mom injured in high speed car accident
Donation protected
On August 24th, a pick up truck sped through the intersection of Bay and Douglas, smashing into 3 cars. The high speed collision destroyed the vehicles and sent 3 people to hospital.
The driver ran away on foot. Officers were able to arrest him nearby.
My friend Cheryl was one of those people injured. She suffered a serious concussion and isn't able to work. Her car, as you can see, was totaled. Recently divorced, Cheryl was working hard to rebuild her life with her two children. The divorce wiped out her savings, and she is at a loss as to how to pay her rent, put food on the table, pay for daycare, let alone buy another car.
Doctors aren't able to say when she can return to her physically demanding job as a nurse. She should get a settlement from ICBC but that will be weeks if not months and in the meantime she needs to cover the necessities of life.
I am hoping this campaign can help her and her kids stay afloat until the settlement from ICBC comes through (And hopefully it will!)
$5000 will hopefully cover her rent, back to school costs, child care, food, hydro etc for 6 weeks. As her car was only valued at $2000, any additional funds will go towards the purchase of a replacement vehicle.
