Help My Daughter Attend A Black Girls Code Event

Hello, I created this GFM campaign because I need help getting my daughter to attend a Black Girls Code event during her spring break. My daughter is 10 years old and has been a lover of video games since she was 5 years old. She has dreams of becoming a game developer when she grows up and unfortunately as a single low income mother, I do not have the funds to help her get into any coding programs at the moment.

I have been following Black Girls Code on social media for awhile now and I've always been interested in getting my daughter to attend one of their programs. All of their programs are in major cities and they usually post event information to the public a month prior to the event. Unfortunately, I do not live in any of the major cities where the BGC events take place and a month is not enough time for me to save money to travel to those cities. That is why I decided last minute to try to crowd fund for my daughter to attend a BGC event.

The program we're trying to attend takes place at Wayne State University in Detroit on March 23rd during the last weekend of her spring break before she goes back to school. If you decide to donate you will be helping towards the cost of the BGC event we plan to attend, travel costs (plane tickets), transportation costs (Uber), and other travel accommodations (food & lodging).
