Help Northgate Track & Field Reach New Heights!

Tax deductible
2022 has been an incredible season for our Boys’ and Girls’ Track Team and we need your help to keep the momentum up for next year. Track does not get ‘ready made’ athletes coming through a club system as you see in other sports such as swimming, or soccer; we create them on our own track and provide total novices with the skills they need to jump, run, leap and fly. We are the largest combined team on campus, with 124 athletes this season, 47 girls and 77 boys and with over half our team comprising Frosh athletes we are excited for the future of our sport.

The team kept our suggested donation deliberately low, to ensure it is accessible to all families, and despite raising $26,000 in parent donations that was just enough to cover all our regular season costs, such as timing services, race fees, and coaches stipends for the eight dedicated event specialist coaches on staff.

With only our seniors having had a full season of track we took an essentially novice group of students and our incredible coaches inspired and showed them how to come together as a team that could compete with the strongest. Our Frosh teams ended the regular season second only to Campolindo, and our Boys’ Varsity was 2nd in a two way tie with Campolindo, Girls a three way tie for 3rd. We sent 22 athletes across 19 events to the NCS meet and are sending on 3 more seniors to compete at the very highest level at the upcoming Meet of Champions.

None of this would be possible without the right kind of equipment and we have not been able to invest in that for a a couple of years due to the pandemic; sadly the gaps are starting to show. This year we are in vital need of new pads for the pole vault and high jump areas, which are a priority due to athlete safety, we also need new poles as well as more general equipment for all of our other events such as hurdles, wickets, batons, etc.

With your help we are launching a track equipment fundraiser so we can rebuild even stronger for next year. Please donate any amount to this worthy cause and keep future generations of Bronco’s safe while they learn to soar to new heights, run faster, and throw farther.

Please share this on your own personal pages to get the word out!
