Donation protected
UPDATE October 2022:

Sad news. Our dear friend and brother Rachid Aloui sadly passed away while undergoing treatment for stage 4 cancer in Turkey. His soul left this earth Monday, the 3rd of October 2022, around 18:00. He was in the process of treatment for stage 4 cancer. He has now left a widowed wife and three orphaned children in Turkey. We are appealing to anyone that is willing to contribute as much as they are able to. The funds will be transferred on a monthly basis directly to his wife in her personal account in Turkey. You can choose the amount and for how long you wish to contribute. If you or someone you know would like this reward please donate and share. Let's support Rachid's family during this hard time.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2022:

Rachid has reached Turkey safely, he is now surrounded by his children and is in good spirits. Please continue to share this fundraising or donate for the coming months and hope and pray that Rachid has the longest time possible with his family.

UPDATE 19/08/2022:

We would like to thank you all for contributing to Rachid's fundraising, and we are very grateful for all the support we have received.

With our first fundraising, we have been able to bring his wife over from Turkey and provide her and Rachid with everything they need. Rachid has also been moved from Cambridge to Luton hospital. Rachid's medical situation is changing; we have taken medical advice and confirmed that he has stage 4 cancer. Rachid's friends and his wife have now decided to continue his treatment in Turkey and be close to his children if his health deteriorates. We have now decided to open this fundraiser again for donations and help him through the burden of flight expenses and anything else needed during his travel back and in Turkey.

Original story:

Rachid had been in the UK for work purposes away from his family, and on Thursday the 7th of July 2022, Rachid collapsed in his home but was not found until Friday when he did not pick up his wife's calls and did not turn up to work. He has been in intensive care since then; the latest MRI scan showed that cancer was found in his lungs and spread to his brain, and doctors have said it is treatable but not curable.
On Thursday, 14th of July, there will be a meeting to decide at what stage he is at and how to progress with chemotherapy. They have also started physiotherapy, and the therapists have said it is a matter of months until he may recover as it is a long process*.

Rachid struggles with his motor skills and speech and can only see clearly with one eye. He has now recognized the voice of his family and friends. Rachid has a wife and children in Turkey and does not have any relatives in the UK. He spent the day of Arafa unconscious on his own, and he spent Eid in hospital, in a coma. He is in a state of shock and confusion and still cannot remember or comprehend what has happened; although his friends have been by his side, he needs his family to comfort him and be present should any improvements or complications arise. We are fundraising for him to cater to his and their needs in this difficult time. Please pray for brother Rachid and may Allah reward you all.

About the fundraisers:

My name is Amine Gharbi, I am an Algerian residing in the UK and I have been a friend with Rachid Aloui for almost 20 years. Rachid and his wife are family friends and knew my wife and me before we got married. We feel indebted to Rachid and his wife for the kindness and generosity they showed us for years and therefore wanted to help. My wife Nour Thwany is the beneficiary as she has supported me with this fundraiser and manages the admin of the page and transfer of the funds. Hocin Karim is also Rachid's friend and is constantly at the hospital, liaising with doctors and his family back in Turkey; he was the person that inspired us to start this fundraiser. May Allah reward him.
We have been given overwhelming support from friends of Rachid and want to thank each one of them. Although they are not mentioned here, they should get the credit and not us.

About the funds raised:

The funds will be used primarily for the visa application and flight tickets for his wife and children to visit their father. They will also be used for accommodation, food or any specific needs his family may have during the coming months. All funds will be transferred to Nour Thwany and thereafter transferred directly to Rachid and his wife's account with the help of Hocin Karim that is in constant contact with Rachid and his family. This is because Rachid's wife is currently in Turkey and Rachid is not able to right now due to his condition.
