PLEASE HELP OUR DAD, JEFF PENDERGRAFT

Josh and I want to thank all of you so much for your generosity. We’ve raised nearly $40,000 in one week. Thank you to all who have contributed!! Please continue to help us reach our goal by sharing our dad’s story and reposting to reach as many people and communities as we can.

Our Dad’s Fight for Life
My brother Josh and I have created this page because we’re in the fight of our lives to save the most amazing person we know—our dad, Jeff Pendergraft.

What Happened to Jeff
On September 16, 2024, our dad was in a devastating motorcycle accident that has completely changed the course of his life. His injuries are severe and numerous. Jeff has a broken femur, multiple fractures in his left leg, shattered hip and pelvis, several broken bones in his left arm and elbow, and broken ribs and collarbone.

After the emergency airlift to the hospital, the doctors discovered that the accident's trauma caused injuries to the vessels in his neck, resulting in a severe stroke. As of now, the extent of the brain damage from the stroke is unknown until the swelling in his brain subsides. Jeff has been placed in a medically induced coma to protect his body while doctors work to stabilize him.

The road ahead is incredibly long, starting with surgeries to repair his broken bones, and only then can we begin to address the damage from the stroke. We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know Jeff will need extensive care and rehabilitation.

About Our Dad
Our dad is a one-of-a-kind man, known for his infectious humor, positivity, and the endless love he gives to the world. He is the most incredible human being and would take the shirt off his back in a second if he knew it would help someone that needed it. He’s the kind of person who brightens up a room with his presence. He is also a tremendous lover of life. He enjoys skiing, dirt biking, golfing, and going to the movies with a big tub of popcorn with my brother and I. He always has the biggest smile on his face, and we genuinely don’t remember the last time he was in a bad mood. He loves everyone he meets and knows how to make a fun time for the people around him. He is also an incredibly hard worker, a great teacher and an amazing, loyal friend. Jeff is a devoted father to me, my brother Josh, and our dog Summit, and loves us more than he can put into words, and I know that if he could talk to us right now, he would be telling us that. He is also an incredible son to his mom, Cookie Pendergraft, and an amazing brother to Steve Pendergraft.

Born and raised in Texas, Jeff followed his dreams to Colorado, where he fell in love with skiing and the mountains. That’s where he met our mom, Suzy, and while they’re no longer married, they’ve remained close friends, sharing their love for our family. He’s also a proud “momma’s boy,” as we like to say, always making sure to take care of his mom and show her love.

How You Can Help
The reality we’re facing is daunting. Our dad’s medical expenses are already soaring into the hundreds of thousands. Between the trauma ICU, countless surgeries ahead, and the long-term recovery process, we expect his journey to be a long one. His broken bones alone will take years to heal, and we will have to wait and see the extent of the brain damage to know what the road ahead will look like.

We need to raise at least $200,000 to help cover the immediate costs of his ICU care and surgeries that will not be covered by insurance, as well as the cost of us trying to keep his home during this period of extensive medical treatment.

This is why we’re turning to our community for help. Your donations, big or small, will make a huge difference in getting our dad the treatment he needs. Even if you can’t donate, sharing our story will help us reach those who can. Any and all prayers, good thoughts and positive energy will mean the world to all of us.

Please help us as we navigate through this with our dad. He’s the strongest man we know, but we can’t do this without you.

With love and gratitude,
Lexi and Josh Pendergraft
