Help Provide Food and Blankets to Sudan
Sudan, one of the largest and most diverse countries in Africa, is currently experiencing one of the worst humanitarian crises in history. Due to the ongoing conflict between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces, violence and displacement have ensued all over the country. What once started as a peaceful protest for a civilian democracy soon turned into bloodshed, leaving millions of Sudanese citizens with nowhere to go.
In the midst of this conflict, over 9,000 innocent Sudanese civilians have been killed, with millions more being displaced from their homes. This violence has been concentrated in Khartoum and Darfur, a city that has already seen genocide and famine in recent years.
UNCHA reports over 25 million people are in need of aid, including basic necessities. Hospitals have been closed, the current school year has been suspended, and millions have had to flee their homes to find safety. While some have made it past the Egypt-Sudan border, millions still remain in Sudan. Sudan currently has a 27 Global Health Index score, indicating the majority of the country is malnourished. Over half a million Sudanese children suffer from malnutrition, a number that is steadily rising due to the ongoing war.
With the ongoing violence between the 2 militias, critical aid such as food and blankets are becoming more scarce. In Al-Qadarif, there has been a recent cholera outbreak. Due to a lack of clean, sanitized water, many women and children are becoming ill. Not only this, but a pneumonia outbreak has been on the rise, particularly affecting children.
My uncle, Nidhal Al-Hadi Ahmed Khalifa, is collecting funds to donate hundreds of blankets as well as plates of food to the refugee camps in Al-Qadarif. He has already provided families with aid, but we have yet to reach our goal. Every cent will be wire transferred internationally toward this cause, and inshAllah these families will find comfort. Please only give what you have, and share this with others! Thank you! Here are videos of the amazing work my uncle has done.
