Help Rebuild Cypress Pointe Gymnastics
My name is Tim Levandowski, and I am one of the team coaches here at Cypress Pointe Gymnastics based in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. This week, CPG was devastated by Hurricane Ida (category 4), losing a majority of our roof which ended up causing a severe amount of water damage inside the gym. Nearly all of the equipment in our main gym is unsalvageable due to the water that came pouring in for days from the torn off roof. Some of the equipment damaged during the storm includes the competition floor, vault, landing and base mats, recreational bars, beams, our entire front office, and all other basic gymnastics equipment you could think off.
CPG has just over 60 competitive team gymnasts lvl 1-10, and around 350 recreational gymnasts enrolled in our program per session. Those 400+ gymnasts and families will be without training until we are able to repair the building and replace the equipment we need to make the gym operational again. Without gymnasts training in the gym, we won’t have any income for the gym to pay for new equipment, coaches pay, etc.
The donations made to our fundraiser will be put towards immediate needs for the gym, helping to cover the cost of equipment replacements, office supplies, coaches back pay/current pay, facility rent/bills, and covering any insurance deductibles if insurance ends up cooperating with us. The funds will be withdrawn by the gym owners directly to the gyms business account. The CPG family is beyond thankful to anyone that can donate, and everyone that already has donated to our cause to help rebuild our gym from the inside out!
