Help Rebuild Joseph & Arline’s Home

Donation protected
Joseph and Arline Williams are native to West Virginia and began their lives together nearly 60 years ago on Sullivan Ave. Unfortunately, their home was tragically destroyed by fire on 6/9/24, where their precious dog Star perished.
They have raised 3 children, nurtured 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren over the last 58 years in the same home. Sullivan Avenue has been a special place for generations in the Williams family. You see, Sullivan Ave is solely occupied by family, whether blood or by love.

As we all know, houses can be rebuilt but when a home is lost that was built with the blood, sweat, and tears of a family…it becomes irreplaceable. This home was special to its owners. It was the place where Joseph and Arline taught their children a strong worth ethic and set the foundation for their Christian beliefs. The home where Joe II, a retired Navy veteran learned to swim and Rafael, a division one college football player built his muscle carrying bricks that would become the foundation of the renovated property. This is the home where Patrice, while blocks away at college could sneak away for a home cooked meal. This was the home where everyone congregated when returning HOME to visit. All of these memories wouldn’t be possible if it were not for the labor of love that Mr. Williams dedicated to building a house brick by brick with his own hands and Mrs. Williams adding her kind and gentle love to make it a home. While the structure has been destroyed the love that permeated the walls remain strong.

The Williams family are pillars in the Dunbar community, affectionately known as the Bottom. They currently live on fixed incomes and unfortunately did not have fire insurance that could help rebuild their home. Please find it in your hearts to donate to this fund to help this family rebuild their home. The home that Mr. and Mrs. Williams thought they would not only retire in but spend their last days. Joesph, while still strong is at an age where he is just not able to conquer this monstrous task alone and Arline is battling deteriorating health that requires special accommodations to live comfortably yet safe.
