Help Restore Federal Recognition to Muwekma

Tax deductible

"The Help Restore Dignity to Muwekma" campaign is our collective effort to send the message that we will not be silent anymore!

Welcome to this Exciting New Chapter to help pass legislation to restore the dignity of San Francisco Bay Area's very first people, a people with an anthropological history which spans 10,000 years. A treasure we have yet to realize.

Steel reeling from the inhumane invasion of conquerors Muwekma has spent 40 years struggling to clarify their federal status. Unfortunately the Department of Interior’s continued indifference and neglect (both historically and today) has amounted to continued political erasure, and cultural genocide against the Muwekma people.

The Help Restore Dignity to the Muwekma People campaign is our collective effort to send the message that we will now mobilize all decent people to help us.

Help Restore Dignity to the Muwekma People campaign seeks to communicate that the people demand Justice, and that Congress MUST pass legislation restoring federal recognition to the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of the San Francisco Bay Region.

We want all people who consider themselves to be allies and sympathetic to the Indian nations, to write to their Congressmen and Congresswomen, to tell them that enough is enough. And we want you to support the "The Help Restore Dignity to Muwekma" campaign, the goal of which is to sponsor and with your help pass subsequent legislation to restore the federal recognition of Muwekma, and in essence our sovereignty, the essence of our dignity.
