Help Santa get to Children in the Women's Refuge
Donation protected
We want to make sure Santa gets to the children who will be staying with their mum's in the Women's Refuge, Modh eile House, COPE Galway (formerly Waterside House), this Christmas.
The Women's Refuge is for women, and their children, who need emergency accommodation due to domestic violence. Our aim is to make sure that the children staying in the refuge for Christmas don't get forgotten by Santa.
We will use the funds generated through gofundme, to make sure that the children’s letters to Santa can reach him on time. That will ensure that their presents can arrive to the shelter by Christmas Eve, so no one will be left out.
Since 2014 this project has been organised and has ran successfully by staff in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, UCFRC Family Support and Medicine, in the National University of Ireland, Galway and, in partnership with staff at COPE Galway's Women's Refuge. We have heard wonderful stories of joy on Christmas morning and we hope that this year will be just as heart-warming for the children.
If you require any further information about this project please don't hesitate to contact Dr Hazel Killeen, Professor Caroline McGregor or Ms Gillian Browne at NUI Galway.
We greatly appreciate your ongoing support for this project.
Wishing you and yours a safe and happy Christmas,
Hazel, Caroline and Gillian
