Help Joe P. Brown get kidney transplant!

Hello Everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Joe P. Brown. I am a 35-year-old Liberian who is married and has three beautiful little girls. I appreciate you taking the time to read my story. A terrible kidney disease has blindsided my family and me. I have been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, which is now at Stage 5. This means that my kidneys have stopped working or at least are incredibly close to shutting down. This stage is also known as kidney failure, End-stage kidney disease. Both of my kidneys are severely damaged and have stopped doing their job of filtering waste from my blood. This has resulted in other health complications. The Doctors have recommended a kidney transplant and have warned that I don’t have much time to live without an urgent kidney transplant.

Through the help of my family and friends, In October 2023, I was taken to Ghana for dialysis. At present, I am in Ghana and being dialyzed twice weekly. With dialysis, my body can filter out the waste as I await a transplant.

Current Situation

Through the help of my family and friends, In October 2023, I was taken to Ghana for dialysis. At present, I am in Ghana and being dialyzed twice weekly. With dialysis, my body can filter out the waste as I await a transplant. Dialysis has its complications and so, currently, I am struggling with a few health problems. I have most recently suffered severe anemia, extreme fatigue (tiredness), poor vision, swollen ankles and feet, and high blood pressure. In the past few weeks, I have had to be transfused several times, operated on for insertion of an arteriovenous fistula for dialysis, taken so many medications, and changed my diet all in a short period. My body is so tired.

How can you Help

My family and friends are financially constrained, given the expenses associated with my current medical condition. They have been helping me weekly with dialysis payments, food and medication but it has been tough sometimes to pay for dialysis weekly. I have exhausted all my financial savings. In this light, I have created this GoFundMe campaign to reach out to a broader network of compassionate individuals willing to lend a helping hand in raising the necessary funds to do the transplant. I am kindly asking for your support whether through donation, sharing the GoFundMe link with your network or simply sending words of encouragement and I believe this will make an enormous difference in my life during this difficult time. No matter the amount, every single contribution will make a meaningful impact on my journey toward doing the transplant and recovery. This will make an enormous difference in my life during this difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for participating in this journey and supporting this GoFundMe campaign for my medical care. With my family, friends, loved ones, and well-wishers, you all can make a positive impact in helping me navigate through this challenging time in my life.

With Sincere gratitude,

Joe P. Brown.
